Physician Assistant

Reports to: Clinical/Medical Lead

The primary function of the Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical operation and have control over the location for that day. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The Physician Assistant will support the doctors’ work and actively facilitate patients’ testing and telehealth. The Physician Assistant will apply medical techniques and principles under the direction of a physician and will deal with a diverse set of patients to offer them care and encouragement. The Physician Assistant will provide support to the Doctors’ work and actively facilitate patients’ testing and telehealth. The goal is to complete all activities accurately with high quality and in a timely manner in accordance to policy and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ health and their demands and aim to fulfill them as well as possible.

  • Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine.

  • Inform physicians about any problems or discrepancies that might arise. 

  • Acquire and review patient histories identifying abnormal conditions. 

  • Monitor patients’ progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events.

  • Attend to emergencies. 

  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in assessment, diagnostic reasoning and therapeutic management of patients.

  • Perform COVID testing in the community at sites run by 360 Clinic. Use research and theoretical principles in implementing therapies that restore health, minimize complications, and manage risk factors; as we strive to integrate patient care across the continuum of health care services in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, families and patients. 

  • Supervision of quality management and performance improvement and assistance in data management as needed.

  • Supervise medical assistants and patient service representatives who will be assisting with COVID testing, monitoring of inventory, and coordination of testing activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS/MA in Physician Assistant Studies, Health Science or Medical Science

  • The applicant must be a Certified Physician Assistant and hold valid license to
    practice as a Physician Assistant from the California State Board of Medical Examiners.

  • Must hold a valid DEA license

  • Current provider in Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • At least three years of experience as a licensed Physician Assistant; infectious disease/COVID 19 testing experience is desirable.
