Data Entry

Reports to: Clinical Director

The primary function of the Data Entry clerk is to perform duties and functions required by transferring information from one source to another. This will include data entry for accurate collection of information with zero errors. The goal is to complete all activities accurately with high quality and in a timely manner in accordance to policy and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs data entry for COVID-19 laboratory reports received via fax into the state surveillance system. 

  • Performs data entry for COVID-19 morbidity reports received via fax or email. 

  • Identifies missing or inaccurate received data and elevate to Clinical Director as appropriate. 

  • Maintains proper filing and tracking of all received and entered reports. 

  • Tracks metrics of data entry and reports to Clinical Director as needed. 

  • Assists with data quality assurance activities as needed. 

  • Serve as back up to other data entry staff. 

  • Other duties as requested by Management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma/BA Degree 

  • Skill in attention to detail and accuracy of reading, interpreting and recording information. 

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment. 

  • Basic knowledge of agency program terminology. 

  • Ability to learn and comprehend Covid-19 case investigations and laboratory information. 

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Must be a fast typist.

Working Conditions

  • General field, standing for long periods, extended care facility, patient setting, exposure to infectious diseases, travel by automobile
